Science and technology development always confirms the role and position in national development. For higher education institutions, scientific research is the backbone, a driving force to promote and improve the quality of education and the position of education and training institutions. According to Decree 99/2014 / ND-CP on developing science and technology human resources in higher education institutions, including: Training and retraining of lecturers, researchers and faculty managers learn; Build and develop strong research groups, leading scientists, talented young scientists.
Established in 1976, the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment is the first institution to train human resources for Vietnam's Land Management sector. In addition to training duties, theFaculty of Natural Resources and Environment also performs the task of scientific research and technology transfer, contributing to the development of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector; Natural resources and environment of the country. With the orientation of developing according to the model of advanced, multi-sector, multi-field, the Faculty of Land Management has conducted training through closely linking training activities with scientific research and building and developing strong research groups (NNC).
Scientific research activities in the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment in the context of international integration are increasingly deep and wide; Industrial revolution 4.0, the strong formation and development of the science and technology market (after the implementation of the Science and Technology Law, the Law on Technology Transfer amended in 2013) where there are only high quality scientific technology products accepted; The project to support the startup ecosystem of national innovation and entrepreneurship movement in the agricultural sector in association with the needs of new technologies, technological innovation of enterprises is increasing ... Therefore, the completing and strengthening the linkage in scientific research activities to create scientific products to meet the needs of society is an urgent task today.
Recognizing the importance, the role of the strong research group, exploiting and promoting the passion of scientific research of well-trained and qualified staff. The resolution of the Faculty's Communist party has set a target of building and developing strong research groups to implement research results in line with the practice of Land Management, Soil Science, and Water Resources Engineering. Determining the research direction is the decisive step to the success of the research group, the research directions of the Faculty closely follow the research orientation of the university and the major. Pursuant to Decision No. 4177 / QD-HVN of December 24, 2015, approving the Development Strategy of VNUA by 2030, with a vision of 2050, the Director of the VNUA issued a Decision to establish 04 strong research groups and 02 excellent research groups in the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment
