As a momentous joint event organized by two pioneering projects, LIRLAP (Linking disaster risk governance and land-use planning) and KAHR (Climate Adaptation, Flood, Resilience), the International Conference on Recovery and Reconstruction took place at the esteemed TU Dortmund University on July 4th, 2023. Funded by the prestigious German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), both LIRLAP and KAHR projects are committed to exploring innovative solutions and addressing the pressing challenges posed by natural hazards, particularly devastating flooding events.

Representing Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Assoc.Prof. Dr Tran Trong Phuong- Dean of Faculy of Natural Resources and Environment (VNUA) delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the "Overview of Strategic Spatial Planning in Emerging Land-Use in Hanoi." His insightful insights shed light on the pressing need for sustainable land-use practices in rapidly urbanizing regions, emphasizing the importance of strategic spatial planning to minimize vulnerability to disasters like floods.
